If Children Of Sol Were To Be A Graphic Novel...

in Children of Sol
The first major product to be born of the Children of Sol Universe will be a graphic book. Goals.
● Interim target that allows us to collate and structure the vast amount of imagery and artwork we may one day produce.
● A physical (or electronic), structured archive to the community demonstrating the visceral, high-fidelity universe that is Children of Sol
● An introduction to the wider community about the universe, it's principles and why it will be an awesome franchise
Structure.
● This is open to discussion, options include a technical manual detailing the technology manufacturers of the day, or a story focusing on one individual, a group (eg squadron) or a political overview of events. Basically, we're not producing just another art book.
Some of you already may have heard me mention something about the "Great Space Battles" or "Terran Trade Authority" handbooks as inspiration - This book will be an evolution of that template of publication, relevant our current world, not only in content and message, but also in delivery.
Publication.
Draft publication earmarked for completion late 2012
We will hit publishers for both retail and online publication (eg amazon) as a physical product.
We will also publish on all compatible e-readers (eg sony, ipad)
Proceeds.
I have two cinareo's mapped out:
● The book is a critical and commercial success, we're bestsellers in science fiction and we're swimming in money. - If this happens, Method retains a 20% share with the rest of the 80% stake divided between the contributors on a page/% basis (ie, if you create 1 page, out of a 100 page book, you will have a 1% stake out of the remaining 80%)
● More likely, if the sales of the book are modest, the funds will be retained by Method to service community costs and to provide financial resource should we need it in future. There will also be a hardship fund for any of our contributors should and when they require it.
Any questions?

Have you got a writer for this? I'm a writer, I'd love to be involved.

Hey Velocir, check out this thread for more information about joining us.
At the moment we have one dedicated writer but we're always interested in finding more.
